55'ing requires constant attention to your monsters, and enchantments. Doing fow/hm fow requires a lot of attention to your surroundings. Try somethign a bit easier first. Run the begone Hot Springs undead run for some good practice.

Got Factions? My bread and butter has come from farming Jade Brotherhood Knights outside The Marketplace. Having the Quest, "Street Justice" also spawns Ahm Fah Assassins to kill. I use Spiteful Spirit on this run and I've gotten so many Runes and Lockpics it's ridiculous.

I run a Mo/E, and have had great success with both of these builds, as for where i started, i started on the troll spawns in talus chute, as they are plentiful in supply, and they're drops are semi decent. Just exit out from droks, turn left, and hug the wall until you get to the troll cave also try to dodge the tengu on the way up there.

Top bar Skills:
Healing Breeze
Protective Spirit
Essence Bond
Balthazars Spirit
Shield Of Judgment {elite}
Blessed Aura
Zealots Fire
Mark Of Rodgort
Bottom Skill Bar:
Healing Breeze
Protective Spirit
Essence Bond
Balthazars Spirit
Shield Of Judgment {elite}
Blessed Aura
Aftershock
Crystal Wave
As for skill usage, if im going as an earth mage (second Skill Bar), as soon as talus chute loads, i cast all of my MAINTAINABLE enchantments, and run there. as soon as i enter the cave, before i aggro any trolls, i cast protective spirit, and healing breeze then run in. I then cast shield of judgment once i have the mob concentrated on me, then cast aftershock when they are knocked down, and crystal wave, and continue to spam these until they are dead. needless to say, i recast protective spirit, and healing breeze whenever needed.
If im going as a fire mage, (the top skill bar) ill follow the same way as an earth mage, but once i enter the cave, i cast protective spirit, and healing breeze, then zealots fire. once the mob is trained on me, i hex them all with mark of rodgort, so whenever i cast an enchantment, zealots fire deals fire damage, and they are set alight, and take massive degen. i will also cast shield of judgment, to make the whole thing quicker, and obviously recast healing breeze, and protective spirit when needed. A word of warning while using this build, is not to cast enchantments too quickly, as this registers as AoE damage, and the monsters flee.
i hope this helps

I farm outside of Gates of kryta in hard mode, its very easy and u get alot of drops. I would say thats a good place to start to get a hang of your build. then go on to better places from there.
